Bytesforall Bangladesh has worked to conceptualize 13 different manifestations of online violence in Bengali. This online violence is often reflected through behaviors such as, online hacking, access denial, harassment, intimidation, cyberstalking, impersonating, extortion, threats, surveillance, disparagement etc. We have recently updated this document.
The document originally prepared by APC and Take Back the Tech, was customized in Bangladesh context. It took into account different types of violence that happen in an online environment particularly for female online users in Bangladesh. Our users are frequent victims of this crime but either remain silent or are not aware of its nature and manifestations. This document may help them identify those and to take necessary action before it affects them. The preparation of this document was also supported by Bangladesh Open Source Network and is available for everyone to download from here.
